Achensee & Co. – A little bit of the earth to fall in love with!

If you've been here before, you'll be nodding your head in agreement now. And it's really true: the Achental and Achensee is a holiday region straight out of a fairytale. A picture-perfect landscape. And every season has its own face. Its own attractions. From the Alpine rose blossoms in spring to the glorious white in winter. The Achensee is not just beautiful. It's also the largest in Tyrol: 6.8 square kilometres. 481 million cubic meters of water. And almost drinking-water quality too!

Its "neighbours" - the Rofan mountains to the east and the Karwendel mountains to the west - aren't lacking in size and beauty either. There are 125 summits above 2,000m in Karwendel and another 19 in Rofan. The view of the mountains is just as impressive as the view from then top of them down to the valley and lake. The range of fun and sport on offer is just as varied as the nature and the area. It's no wonder then, that „lowland Tyroleans“ feel just as much at home with us as „summit chasers“, who see the mountains as their second home.
